Over the past two years, we've been proud to support schools, directors, and videographers in capturing and sharing meaningful performances through our Video on Demand and Livestream functionality. From choir concerts to statewide choir competitions, we've helped make these moments memorable and accessible to families and communities long after the curtains closed.

However, as technology evolves and the economy continues to shift, so too must our focus.

Why We're Winding Down Video on Demand and Live Streaming

In 2025, we're making the strategic decision to wind down direct-to-consumer video sales and livestream services.

High-quality video production has never been more accessible - today's smartphones can often rival traditional camera rigs. At the same time, monetizing video content has become increasingly difficult for schools, families, and videographers alike. We've found that despite offering a great product, the economics of direct-to-consumer VOD/Live Streaming no longer justify the resources it demands.
This change allows us to double down on solutions like event ticketing, form management and fee collection

What This Means for Current Customers:

Access to Past Purchases: If you've previously purchased or redeemed a video through Event Odyssey, it will remain accessible in your account. Nothing is being taken away.
Final Season Coverage: For schools current using Event Odyssey for Video on Demand, we will continue to support professional recording and distribution through the end of this school year.

What's Next

This isn't goodbye forever to video - it's a repositioning.
In the future, we plan to reintegrate video services as part of a broader package to schools, including a fixed amount of encoded video minutes per year. Schools and other groups will have the freedom to monetize, share, or provide those videos freely as part of an integrated package with other Event Odyssey features.
